It's Earth Day Everybody!

Thursday Regains Title Of "Best Day Of The Week."

It is Thursday today.  And unlike so many Thursdays before this one, it has meaning. The Office and 30 Rock are back! This is what funny is, people! Real comedy! Unlike other shows like The New Adventures of Old Christine these shows are funny! I almost forgot, thank god the writers' strike is over.

So support and watch. That's all.

Brits Do It Best.

I'm an avid 'Bachelor' fan and I just need to comment on this season, the Bachelor's 'London Calling'. Why do Brits do it so much better? Matt, this season's lucky man, has proceeded to make out with everyone and still appears to be a genuine, smart, hot and the antonym of a sleaze. Which if you watch the show, ABC has picked some charmers. 

I do realize that giving each Bachelorette a test drive is an important aspect of the search but thats pretty hard to pull off on national television and still be portrayed as a 'good guy'. And he's done that! And do you know why? Because he's actually basing his picks on not just the hottest chicks but his actual connection with them...aka conversation. What a novel idea. Matt has weeded out the wacky's and is moving forward with probably the sanest crew possible. My top picks are Shayne...love that girl, even though she's insanely dramatic and always bundled. And I really like Marshana, i think she's fab, minus the sari. I think he should have kept drunky!

Anyways Matt is representing the UK smashingly and I am obviously in too deep.

Do You Have These In Your Library?

How many people do you know that actually read? Read, as in read a book, not computer screens. I read a book a month, but I am trained to do so being an English major. For those who do read, the UK's Telegraph has put together the 110 Best Books: The Perfect Library.  I read about 40 books a quarter at the UW and still haven't read all of these books.  But, there are some classics; The Divine Comedy by Dante (which made me want to get baptized) and Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. My personal favorites are; Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, I, Claudius by Robert Graves, Canterbury Tales by Chaucer. So, what have you read?

Fantasy Wall Street.

I am afraid of Wall Street.The main reason being thatI have no idea what I am doing and I am terrified I will lose all my money.  But, what if there was no risk involved?  Like, fantasy Wall Street?  Well, my wish came true and I get to play Beat The Street.  Even though you are not risking your own money, you get the chance to win some money (5K a week) depending on how savvy you are at navigating the stock market and making good picks (whatever that means.)

I like it. No risk for me and I always wanted to dip my toes into the stock market and learn. The game starts April 4th and lasts for 12 weeks. My fantasy Stock Broker name is K-Money.Source Adrants.

For Tree Huggers.

World Wildlife Fund has this great new site where you can purchase a tree for only $5.50 and watch it grow.  If you head to my baby tree, $5.50 will allow you to purchase a tree, as well as the nursery costs, maintenance and final transplantation of your tree.  After the tree is transplanted, you will receive an email allowing you to watch your tree grow with the help of Google earth.  How cool is that?  Normally you just purchase a tree and forget about it.  WWF is giving you a chance to pinpoint your very own baby tree in the Forrest of Borneo.  It is a way to really engage those who want to help the environment. I suggest you get one, I know I will!
